What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
To listen with intention. I believe we all have the desire to communicate for understanding, connection, and clarity. It is our outlet to express our opinions, thoughts, and beliefs that make us uniquely ourselves. The difficult part is that desire to speak can often lead to us listening with the goal to respond, not to understand.
It is challenging, but I work hard to listen with intention and not just to respond in all aspects of my life.
What’s your favorite way to unwind after a long day?
Family time is one of my favorite ways to unwind after a long day. Connecting and creating memories with those I love brings me a lot of joy. Some of things we love to do as a family are cooking and baking, playing sports, hiking, and doing DIY crafts or projects that stimulate our creative brains.
What’s a personal achievement you’re really proud of?
I love the outdoors, being active, and challenging myself both mentally and physically. The Pikes Peak Ascent is a 13.6-mile race up Pikes Peak alongside 1,000 other registrants, I have completed it four times since 2016. Only thing I still need to accomplish is to beat my dad’s time. He is 20 years my senior and I have not beaten him up the mountain yet.
